The book of the fascinating colours of ancient Tallinn is in your hands. Although the town looks most dignified in its hibernal garb of snow, and probably most true-to-life in a shower of autumnal rain, let us still prefer a walk in the sunshine of a summer day. And let us be guided by Gustav German, the man who has an equally perfect knowledge of his home town and photography - the two things he loves best. Let us stroll, take note of the sights and meditate. Our walk does not pretend to be a systematic study of the history and architecture of Tallinn. A certain plan is only needed to avoid aimless wandering. The commentary at the end of the album is meant to supplement the information provided by the pictures and to facilitate the retention of your impressions in your memory.
